Major League Fishing, the world’s largest fishing tournament organization, has announced that the 2022 Phoenix Bass Fishing League presented by TH Marine Wild Card Regional will take place on Lake Wheeler in Decatur, Alabama on November 11-12. The two-day event, hosted by Decatur Morgan County Tourism, will launch from Ingalls Harbor in Decatur.
Anglers must have participated in all five events in a Phoenix Bass Fishing League division during the 2022 season and fished at least two of them in order to be eligible to fish the Wild Card. Additionally, anglers fishing in a regular BFL Regional are not eligible.
Anglers will take off from Ingalls Harbour, located at 701 Market St. NW in Decatur, at 7 a.m. each competition day. The weigh-ins will take place at the port on both days from 3 p.m. Fans are invited to attend the event or follow the action online via the “MLF Live” weigh-in broadcasts on MajorLeagueFishing.com.
The full platoon competes both days in the Phoenix Bass Fishing League Wild Card, with winners determined by the heaviest catch over the two days. The top six boaters and top six fellow Strike King anglers will qualify for the 2023 Phoenix Bass Fishing League Presented by TH Marine All-American, to be held on Lake Hartwell in Seneca, SC, May 31-June 2.
Registration for the Phoenix Bass Fishing League Wild Card is now open and runs until Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 5 p.m. Anglers can register by phone at (270) 252-1000.
The 2022 MLF Phoenix Bass Fishing League presented by TH Marine is a 24-division circuit dedicated to weekend anglers, with 128 tournaments throughout the season and five qualifying events in each division. The top 45 Strike King boaters and co-anglers from each division, along with the five winners of the qualifying events, advance to one of six Phoenix Bass Fishing League regional championships.
